Just take a look at many of the bloggers out there who just can’t get results with their blogs no matter what they do, no matter how hard they work – many of them are suffering from what I call “the wordpress battle“.
If I ask how why you’re using wordpress I’m sure I will get a response of this nature: Because of it’s flexibility. Because it is SEO friendly etc. It doesn’t matter what your purpose is for using wordpress there are things you have to do in order to get the best from your wordpress blog, only after doing these things can you claim to have won the wordpress battle.
1. Have a Great Design
While we talk a great deal about wordpress designs, optimization etc. on this blog you should realize that we are not just saying this for it’s sake but because it is very important to the success of any blog. WordPress is a great CMS with a lot of great advantages but you can’t get the desired results if you don’t have a great design.
One thing I have been observing for sometimes now is how posts go viral and one thing I have noticed is that your design is instrumental to the success of your blog and how viral your posts go. While there is nothing bad in being minimalist with your design it is important to make sure your design has all the elements of a successful design and that above all it aids your content in going viral.
2. What is SEO?
I’m not trying to preach SEO to you here since this post is not about SEO but I will like to tell you that there are some very important SEO tips you have to implement in order to get the best from wordpress.
Have you ever wondered how losing several thousand visitors to your blog every month can be? That is exactly what happens if you decide to ignore SEO for your blog.
After installing your wordpress blog there are some things you have to check and make sure are in good order such as the permalink option, the code of your wordpress theme, the loading time of your site and how navigable your site is. Anything that helps your readers will also help your SEO, if your permalink structure is easy for users to remember it will also help your search engine rankings, in your battle for SEO it is equally important to factor in your readers – keyword stuffing is not all there is to SEO, there some important and significant things you can do that will benefit both your readers and the search engines.
3. Your Plugins
One of the reasons why many people (including me) use wordpress is because of its large support for various plugins that helps make a blog better. WordPress plugins helps enhance your blog and make it better, not destroy it.
There is no point in you installing 100 plugins on your blog because they only clutter your blog and make it less user friendly. Try to know the plugins your blog needs and use it only, don’t contribute to the mess on your blog by making use of various other wordpress plugins that aren’t useful.
Conclusion
Have you ever fought the wordpress battle? Were you able to win it? Fell free to share your thoughts in the comments section. Also make sure you share this post on your favorite social media sites.
