It’s been a while since I did an roundup of free WordPress themes and with this post I’ve decided to do at least one roundup of free themes every month.
There are a ton of amazing free themes available on WordPress.org and most of those themes have a neat design and code. Sometimes, I even think I should use that theme on WordPress Kube but then design is not something that you can change every month.
In this post I am going to showcase 10 beautiful and well coded themes that doesn’t cost a dime 
.
1. Frank
Frank is a fantastic theme designed and built to provide a light, responsive and unobtrusive reading experience. The theme loads very quickly and doesn’t have any unnecessary images.
The theme comes with various different layouts for your home page (1 column, 2 column, 3 column, 4 column, etc.) that can be mixed and matched.
2. Clean Retina
Clean Retina is a responsive theme with the focus on showing great content. A beautiful theme that comes with a great of features and 9 home page layouts.
If you’re looking a clean and responsive theme, than this theme is a great option.
3. Ribbon
Ribbon is a magazine style WordPress theme released by the MyThemeShop team. Though, the team or owner behind the beautiful themes is still unknown.
The theme comes with a great set of widgets including related posts and popular posts widgets. Great theme to start a tech or magazine style blog.
4. Gallery
Gallery is another great theme with a number of custom layouts and color schemes. Gallery theme is built on the upthemes framework, a popular and lightweight theme options framework.
The theme comes with a responsive design and built-in retina support.
5. Alkane
Alkane is a great theme for photography, blog and portfolio sites but it can also be used for other projects. The theme comes with a clean and creative design.
6. Ayoshop
A responsive eCommerce child theme built for Genesis Theme Framework using WooCommerce.
It’s not often you would get a child theme of this quality with responsive layout, woocommerce integeration and bbpress compatible for absolutely no cost. Though, you would need to pay for the Genesis theme.
7. Deux Milles Douze
Deux is a child theme built on the top of Twenty twelve theme. This is a great example of what can be done with a child theme.
8. Portlight Genesis Theme
Before I start bragging about this free theme, I want to share something – this theme requires Genesis Theme Framework which is a paid framework. So you would need to have a license of Genesis theme, before you could use Portlight theme.
Portlight is a free portfolio theme for genesis with a ton of options. Normally a theme like this comes with a price of $20-50.
9. elegant White
Elegant white is an elegant theme with modern design. The theme has some great features like post thumbnails or custom menus in Header and Footer.
There are ton of similar themes but elegant White stands out because of its simple design.
10. Design Folio
Design Folio is a fully responsive portfolio theme for designers and creatives. This beautiful theme is designed by the David Gwyer of PressCoders.
It clearly shows how much efforts the theme developer has put into it, and it really shows.
This a great collection of free WordPress themes. It is always exciting to discover new great WP Themes. Ribbon, Gallery and Elegant white are my favorites.
