So, you know how to build an office building but not a website, huh? Luckily for you, there’s really nothing to worry about because most web design beginners can just grab a WordPress theme and get their site up within a few seconds.
WordPress is a great platform for creating a website of any kind, construction companies included. In fact, learning how to install WordPress is a simple process, and is often done by your managed WordPress hosting provider so you don’t even have to.
Using a self-hosted WordPress.org site (vs a WordPress.com one) will give you the flexibility to create any kind of website you desire, with access to all of WordPress’ features such as themes and plugins. Simply choose a domain name, sign up for your hosting account using (here are some of the best hosting options to choose from), and install WordPress. You will then be ready to pick a theme to match your niche and start building your site from the ground up.
Construction companies require a website that pushes people to their primary contact pages. You want to quickly show potential clients the type of work you’ve done and then show them the phone number or contact form that’s used to get in contact with you. Everyone finds construction businesses online now, so you’re doing yourself a great disservice if you don’t have a nicely designed website for your construction business.
That said, the internet is stacked with construction company WordPress themes, making it a little frustrating for you to choose the perfect one. That’s why I rounded up the top themes online for you to narrow your search.
BuildPress
I really enjoy the BuildPress WordPress theme because it’s not only one of the best-selling niche themes, but it also comes with awesome video tutorials, online documentation and free PSD files to help with the customization of your website.
In terms of design, the theme works well for construction companies, because it has large slider photos for sharing what it is you do best. The contact information is all clearly placed at the top of the homepage, and you can display items like clients and testimonials as people scroll down on the homepage.

Apex
The Apex theme includes property post types so you can separate your past properties from the standard WordPress posts and pages. This makes it a little easier for you to manage your business and show your potential clients what work you’ve completed in the past.
The entire homepage is widgetized, creating somewhat of a drag and drop interface, so beginners should have no problem designing a striking homepage to feature contact information, photos, sign up forms and more. You can also include a long strip on the homepage, with a call to action for people to download a brochure in exchange for an email address.

Construction Bureau
This theme, called Construction Bureau, features a nice sleek design with a giant backdrop for showcasing one of your more recent projects. The background is a slider so you can include various pictures in this and incorporate an interesting menu that goes straight down the middle of the homepage as opposed to across the top.
The responsive design is built to support high-resolution photos, and the custom post types and formats make it a little nicer if you want to completely customize your website.

Parker Creative
The Parker WordPress theme has a certain glow to it since you can include menus to the left and right of your logo, along with a simple menu that goes straight down the center of the slider. The theme comes with 13 page templates and 3 showcase layouts for the ultimate customization.
I like that Google Fonts and multiple branding colors are incorporated directly into the theme. The responsive layout is translation ready so you can relate to the community you serve. The homepage works as a large video or as a slider to feature your most impressive works.

Batakoo
Moving onto the Batakoo theme, this option is truly ideal for construction companies that desire somewhat of a modern look for their business. The drag and drop page builder is my favorite component on the theme, because you don’t have to touch a single line of code while designing your website.
The live customizer means that you see real time results whenever you make a change on the drag and drop editor. This theme also comes with the most advanced homepage slider, which is called the Slider Revolution plugin. The vast typography and SEO support is always helpful in terms of exposure and branding.

Divi Theme
The Divi may not initially look like a construction theme when you first lay eyes on it, but it’s an ideal option for just about any business that wants a completely customizable theme. Divi is making waves in the WordPress community, because there really isn’t much you can’t complete with this theme.
The smart and flexible theme comes with the signature Divi Builder, which helps you forget about touching any files or code. The responsive theme comes with 18 pre-made layouts, meaning that if another company down the road chooses the same theme, there’s a small chance that your sites look remotely similar.

Arkitekt
I vouch for the Arkitekt WordPress theme because it’s designed with the construction company in mind, and you receive two premium plugins for free with your purchase. The two sliders include the Revolution Slider and the Visual Composer, which both make it so much easier for new web designers to formulate a site that looks respectable.
This theme is also well documented and you can also drop into the support forum to chat with other people who have bought themes from the author. The primary reason I like this theme is because of its design. The clean menu and long homepage makes for a compact, yet powerful website.

Housebuild
As you can see from the screenshot, the Housebuild theme is built for those in the construction industry. One huge advantage of this theme is that it comes with one-click sample data, meaning that you don’t have to unpack the theme yourself and try to figure out where all the components have to go on your own. Sample data is essential for beginners.
This theme also comes with the Revolution Slider plugin, and you can integrate it with WooCommerce if you plan on selling items on your website. The real time WP Customizer takes it one step further for beginners, since you no longer have to guess what your site is going to look like during the design process.

INDUS
The INDUS theme offers my favorite in terms of design, since the bright yellow colors and sleek menu items are certain to grab attention. The responsive design works just fine with WooCommerce, and you receive unlimited colors and layouts, which come in handy if you want to make your company look unique.
You can also change around your header to match four different styles, further enhancing the customization.

Avanter
Avanter provides a minimalist look into the construction theme outlook, since the menu and header is mostly white space.
That said, the theme is ready to start selling eCommerce items, and you can always go in there and change around the colors if needed. The responsive layout works wonders if you plan on catering to people in different languages as well.

Renovation
The Renovation theme provides a wonderful menu layout, placing focus on the logo and then moving outwards to reveal your most important menu items. The responsive and retina ready template has color customization and demo content included, meaning your setup is that much easier.
The Revolution Slider plugin is included into this package, and it’s ready for translation if needed.
Your construction business deserves a website that drives people to your doors and onto your client list. The ideal themes offer large images for you to showcase your past work along with various contact method options. For example, you need an area at the top of the site to reveal your phone number and email address.
