WP MashSocial – The Best Social Media Sidebar Plugin for WordPress

Share this post:

The importance of having the twitter follow button & facebook like box can never be under estimated.

Adding social media follow buttons is one of the first things I do after installing WordPress. You know, I’m a social media addict. I use twitter & facebook to connect with the genius minds from around the globe and it’s a great fun. And having a social media widget on your blog sidebar or footer makes it very easy for you to get more followers, friends or subscribers.

These days almost all the themes come with social media widgets, but does those widgets really work well. I mean most of the themes come with fancy design widgets and do nothing to increase the followers / fans. From last few weeks I’ve been doing split testing on different niche sites and found that widget, which has all the social media & subscription options do pretty well.

When I think about a widget that has all the social media & subscription options , only one plugin comes to my mind and that is WP MashSocial.

Many of you have been asking about the conversation rate, so here’s few details:

  • I got 27% more email subscribers though the widget
  • Got more Twitter followers & Facebook likes
  • The Plugin has all the social media & subscription options.

Features that I’d like to See in the Plugin

  • Pinterest Button integrated in the widget.
  • The ability to integrate email providers like Aweber, Mailchimp, GetResponse, etc.
  • Option for adding more social media buttons like Blokube, My SEO Community etc for small business bloggers.

I did wrote an short review of a similar plugin, few months ago, but that plugin is freaking ridiculous & has few hidden links. The plugin is no more available in the WordPress Respo, though.

Hi Dev, thanks for the email last week about the plugin and the post this week. I hooked it up on one of my blogs and overall pretty pleased. Load is quick – no conflicts easy to customize – great plugin and great find – thanks again.

My only real gripe was no title out of the box. Adding this is easy but I wanted to keep my widget design semantic throughout and having the title was important to me. Oh well, add one line of code and you’re done.

Thanks Dev, I haven’t had the time as of yet, focused on redesigning MD2 on thesis. Hey have a look and let me know what you think – your feedback is important to me. Cheers.

No worries, Jason. I’d be happy to help you anyway, I can. Your blog looks really nice.

Here are few things that I’d suggest you to change or modify:

      1. Header – The current header (logo) looks okay, but having a separate header (logo + navigation bar) would look much better.
      2. Don’t show the full post on homepage – Instead of showing full posts, change it to show the excerpts.
      3. Add a about page that describes you & AutoBlogMax Blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great time, Jason.

      Hi Jason,

The new layout looks much better and great to hear that you’re working on the design.

If you’re having any issues with Hello Bar, you may want to try the FooBar (a premium) plugin. I’m using foobar for all my websites / blogs and it works great.

I really like the V2 which is much better then the current one. Good job, buddy.

Hi bro, I’m impressed by this plugin. But many say that it slows down blog. Takes time to load. Is it true? Help out.

    • Devesh says

      Hi Arun,

I am not using this plugin anymore, but when I did it had a small effect on my loading speed. And the reason I stopped using it, because every other blog I visit had the same widget.

      I hope this helps.
