Max Foundry Acquires PliablePress

Max Foundry Acquires PliablePressDave Donaldson, one of the founders of Max Foundry, announced that they have acquired the premium WordPress theme company called PliablePress. For those who don’t know, PliablePress is a well-known company that creates general themes for WordPress websites.

PliablePress launched in May of 2011, developed six themes and closed its doors in Feb of 2012. Many customers were un-happy and wanted to use their themes, So It’s good to see that PliablePress is getting back to life.

According to Max Foundry co-founder Bob Senoff:

“We think the PliablePress family of themes is a great compliment to our existing product line, and this acquisition significantly broadens our offering of WordPress themes. From our product launch theme “Liftoff” to specific themes for internet marketers, to niche themes for WordPress developers and designers, Max Foundry has positioned itself as a leading WordPress theme and plugin developer.”

After it closed its doors in Feb of 2012, it was clear that Michael Martin, Founder of PliablePress is planning to sell the business. Here’s what Martin said about the acquisition:

“After I closed PliablePress, several people had an interest in taking it over. Max Foundry has a history of running a successful WordPress product line, which convinced me that they were the best possible team to partner with. They have a solid history of looking after customers very well, so this really is a great outcome for existing PliablePress users. I know that management at Max Foundry will continue producing great WordPress products.”

Beginning of 2nd paragraph says “PliablePress launched in May of 2012,” which must be a typo, as it says at the end of the graf that it closed Feb 2012, three months before it opened. They opened in 2010, right?
